About the Role

The Interledger Foundation seeks an experienced Community Events Manager to join our welcoming and inclusive team. In this position, you will lead the development and delivery of world-class events from in-person to virtual and everything in between for external and internal audiences. From external-facing events to internal staff-facing events; you should be a go-getter, be creative and able to blend strategic thinking with execution at scale. You will have strong cross-functional relationships to create, shape, execute and manage events for Interledger. Together, you will collaborate seamlessly with Interledger’s Program, Communications, Technology, Community and Finance teams.

We seek a mission-oriented, open, and collaborative candidate who cares deeply about driving the adoption of our open-source payment technology. The Community Events Manager position is ideal for an experienced candidate with expertise in technology community events combined with creativity, attention to detail, concept, quality, and time constraints, the ability to see the big picture and clearly articulate your vision to internal and external stakeholders, smart use of resources for maximum impact, as well as the ability to partner seamlessly, and execute flawlessly for local and global events.

As Our Community Events Manager, You Will

  • Plan community events like hackathons or conference presences.
  • Bring new ideas to the table, Creative conceptualization
  • Crafting of creative proposals and quotations, negotiating prices
  • Partner with key stakeholders across multiple disciplines to align on the narratives to build through events
  • Resourceful strategic thinker and creative problem solver
  • Ability to pivot quickly and maintain a positive attitude and sense of humor
  • Informed team on all things events, proactively collating feedback and perspectives from cross-functional partners to deliver impactful event campaign strategies
  • Produce creative and well-executed experiences that are community-centric and unique to Interledger
  • Be comfortable with using the latest tools and technologies to elevate our events into unique-to-Interledger experiences.
  • Adaptable to hybrid or virtual events, with knowledge of what it takes online and off, including the latest tools, platforms and technologies to bring our vision to life
  • External vendor and agency management and supervision
  • Provide team with strategic direction on sourcing venues, vendors, entertainment, equipment, supplies and event-related requirements
  • Superior project, budget, timeline and time management skills within tight deadlines
  • Articulate what is and is not required to deliver a successful campaign
  • Be transparent and unafraid to challenge, ask questions or call out obstacles
  • Agile with meticulous attention to details
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to roll up your sleeves to get things done

  • Be open to travel internationally on a need basis

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Has great communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an open-source working environment;
  • Has spent at least 2 years in an Events Manager role;
  • Has spent the past 4 years in Community Events, Creative Events, User Engagement or a similar role;
  • Is part of an established technology community;
  • Has experience hosting in-person, hybrid or virtual events;
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and local language.

Nice To Have

  • Experience designing innovative regional and global events and campaigns
  • MBA degree or certificate with a focus on event management

Location

The Interledger Foundation is based in the United States and has a fully remote staff. This position can be based almost anywhere in the world, excluding countries on the US Sanctions list. Compensation may be affected by international hiring costs in specific locations.
