We are looking to hire a dedicated communications manager who will drive the development of Interledger Foundation’s narrative, shape our messaging, and lead the communications around our work, events, and announcements. The communications manager will develop our internal and external communications strategy with senior management, write and disseminate publicity material, respond to inquiries from the public and media, and coordinate promotional events.

We’re looking for someone who thinks creatively, has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and is a self-starter. Experience as a communications officer or equivalent experience in a similar role with an interest in payment systems is strongly desired.


  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on our target audience.
  • Develop rich, journalism-style content to a worldwide audience of fintech journalists, entrepreneurs, stakeholders, and influencers who operate in the payments ecosystem and financial inclusion space.
  • Craft compelling narratives and storytelling particularly around technical topics in a way that is understandable and relatable to a non-technical audience
  • Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material that communicates the organization's activities.
  • Pitch stories and develop relationships with media, respond to media inquiries, and arrange interviews.
  • Act as a liaison at public events, for press, and as a spokesperson as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists, and maintain a media database.
  • Seek opportunities to elevate Interledger Foundation and coordinate publicity events as required.
  • Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics.


  • Interest in, and curiosity about, the latest trends in technology innovation, including financial inclusion, payment systems, and tech entrepreneurship.
  • Ability to tell stories about deeply technical topics in a way that is understandable and relatable to a non-technical audience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' relevant experience in a communications role.
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing software (InDesign/Microsoft Publisher and/or Photoshop).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management systems, and social media platforms.
